Breakfast recipe: Hemp heart porridge with apples & cinnamon
Oatmeal for breakfast is ideal, especially when it’s flavored with apple and cinnamon. However, a bowl of oatmeal has a less than desirable amount of carbohydrates for breaking a fast. Additionally, many brands of prepacked oatmeals come with high sugar content, which is not an ideal food to be counted as a healthy breakfast. Avoid carb-heavy meals and sugary drinks as they cause a spike in blood sugar levels. Also, too much sugar makes it difficult to continue fasting the next day due to raised levels of hunger hormones.
So, do we give up on porridge? The sugar content in your morning porridge can be reduced, but oats are the base of the porridge recipe. However, oats can be swapped with a mixture of hemp hearts and flaxseed meals. Including hemp hearts in your daily breakfast recipe makes it more nutritious, as they provide nearly 10 grams of protein in just 3 tablespoons of the seed.
Here we bring a porridge recipe that includes hemp hearts, flaxseed meal, apple, and cinnamon, for a healthy breakfast. Apples and cinnamon add the perfect flavor to this breakfast recipe.
